An Artisanal operation license confers on its holder the rights to prospect and to exploit in respect of the substances for which it is granted within its perimeter and up to a depth of 30 meters in case of bench mining and 15 meters in case of mining by excavation.
The holder of an Artisanal operation license may, at any time, request that its Artisanal operation license be converted into a Semi-industrial Mining Operation Permit. The application, accompanied by a feasibility study and an environmental and social impact study, is approved if it provides evidence of satisfactory financial and technical capability.
