The Minister in charge of Mines, following approval by the Ministers in charge of domains, Environment, for local Communities and for other prefectural authorities, may authorize by order, the opening of public quarries on the State’s land within the public domain.
The order authorising the opening of a public quarry must specify the site of the quarry, the substances which may be mined, conditions for access, the extraction plan, operation tax, and the terms for rehabilitation after extraction.
