The holder of a Mining Title or Authorisation may relinquish it, in whole or in part, for justified technical or economic reasons or in cases of force majeure, subject to providing prior notice of three (3) months in the case of an Exploration Permit, and six (6) months for an Operating Permit or a Mining Concession.
However, the holder of a Mining Title or Authorisation remains liable for the payment of all duties and taxes due and for the obligations incumbent upon it with respect to the environment and rehabilitation of the developed sites, even after the relinquishment takes effect, as well as for all the other obligations contemplated by this Code, its implementing regulation and the terms of reference or the Mining Agreement.
