An Exploration Target is a conceptual estimate or area of interest that exhibits geological characteristics suggesting the potential presence of a mineral deposit. In bauxite, gold, iron ore, and diamond exploration, targets are identified through the interpretation of geological, geophysical, geochemical, and remote sensing data. Exploration targets represent opportunities for further investigation and are used to prioritize exploration activities and allocate resources efficiently. Targets may be defined based on known mineral occurrences, structural features, geochemical anomalies, favorable host rocks, or geophysical signatures associated with mineralization. They are generally categorized according to their level of geological confidence and exploration maturity. Exploration targets are not mineral resources and should not be interpreted as evidence of economically recoverable minerals. Instead, they represent hypotheses that require validation through additional exploration work, particularly drilling and sampling.
