A typical filter plant incorporates thickeners or pre-thickening tanks for feed preparation, filter feed tanks and agitators, the primary filtration equipment (vacuum filters, pressure filters, or belt filters), filtrate collection and pumping systems, compressed air and vacuum generation systems, filter cake discharge and conveyance equipment, washwater systems, and instrumentation and control systems.
The design capacity of a filter plant is determined by the mine production rate, the nature of the ore and gangue mineralogy, process water management requirements, and the downstream handling and transportation logistics.
