Abrasion Test

A standardized laboratory or field procedure used to measure the resistance of a material to surface wear under controlled abrasive conditions. In mining, abrasion tests assess ore hardness and abrasivity to guide equipment selection, liner material choice, and wear life prediction for crushers, mills, and conveyors. Common methods include the Bond Abrasion Index test and the LCPC abrasimeter test.
