Anode Assembly

The pre-baked carbon anode structure installed in aluminium reduction cells (electrolysers) to conduct electric current through the cryolite bath and facilitate the electrochemical reduction of alumina to aluminium metal. Anode assemblies consist of a carbon anode block attached to a cast iron–rodded steel stub assembly. Anode performance, dimensional accuracy, and carbon quality directly influence reduction cell productivity and energy consumption in aluminium smelting.
