Attrition Scrubbing
A process in which ore particles are agitated vigorously in a high-solids slurry to remove clay coatings, oxide films, and adhering fine particles through inter-particle abrasion. In bauxite mining, attrition scrubbing liberates clay minerals from ore surfaces to improve washing efficiency and product quality. In iron ore processing, scrubbing removes goethite coatings from hematite grains to improve downstream separation and product specifications.
