Auger Sampling

The collection of representative soil or regolith samples using a rotating auger drill for geochemical analysis or grade assessment. In bauxite and gold laterite exploration, auger sampling provides rapid, low-cost coverage of large areas to define geochemical anomalies and ore zone boundaries. Sample quality depends on maintaining sample integrity, avoiding contamination between intervals, and collecting representative volumes from each depth interval.
