Bauxite Beneficiation

The physical or chemical treatment of run-of-mine bauxite to improve aluminium content, reduce reactive silica, and enhance suitability for refining. Beneficiation techniques include washing, scrubbing, screening, cycloning, and drying. Washing removes fine clay particles and reduces silica, while screening separates material by size. Effective beneficiation improves refinery efficiency, reduces caustic soda consumption, and upgrades lower-grade ore, extending the economic life of bauxite deposits and improving overall aluminium production economics.
