Belt Scale

An instrument integrated into a conveyor system to continuously measure and totalise the mass of material transported on the belt. Belt scales use load cells mounted under conveyor idlers to measure belt loading, combined with belt speed measurement, to calculate instantaneous flow rate and cumulative tonnage. In mining operations, belt scales are essential for production accounting, process control, and blending management. Regular calibration and maintenance ensure measurement accuracy, which directly affects resource accounting and commercial transactions.
