Beneficiation Circuit Design
The engineering process of selecting, sizing, and integrating unit operations to create an optimal beneficiation circuit for a specific ore type. Circuit design is based on mineralogical characterisation, metallurgical testwork, process simulation, and economic evaluation. Design objectives include maximising valuable mineral recovery, meeting product specifications, minimising operating costs, and achieving target throughput. In gold, iron ore, and bauxite operations, circuit design is iterative and tested at laboratory and pilot scale before full-scale implementation.
